Barcroft Studios has produced a new mental health docuseries called 'Mind Yourself' starring London-based rapper Shocka which will premiere on Snapchat tomorrow.

The 10-episode series focuses on young people who are suffering or recovering from poor mental health. From body dysmorphia to PTSD, the series gives an honest insight into everyday mental health conditions.

Shocka – who will be starring in one of the episodes – is a 31-year-old London-based rapper, who achieved early success as a member of the rap group, Marvell but later suffered a mental breakdown and was diagnosed with schizophrenia.

Snapchatters who watch the series will also be able to swipe-up for instant access to a range of mental health resources and information.

For Snapchatters who may be experiencing any of the issues profiled in Mind Yourself, or who want to learn more about mental health and how to help friends, Snapchat also announced this week that they are rolling out in-app support via their new feature Here For You.

The tools, which will roll out in the coming months, will show safety resources from expert localized partners when Snapchatters search for certain topics, including those related to anxiety, depression, stress, suicidal thoughts, grief and bullying.

According to the World Health Organization, one in four people are affected by mental health conditions.
