West Road Pictures to produce new ITV thriller from 'Blood' writer
West Road Pictures is to produce a new four-part thriller for ITV.
The London company, All3Media's scripted production label, has been commissioned to produce Hollington Drive from acclaimed screenwriter Sophie Petzal, who penned ITV hit Blood (pictured).
It will focus on the lives of two sisters, Theresa, and her older head teacher sibling, Helen, in a plot that is "thick with secrets, lies, twists and turns".
Hollington Drive has been commissioned by ITV’s Head of Drama, Polly Hill, who said: "It’s a beautifully written thriller that looks at maternal love and sisterly love, in a story that will compel and surprise the audience. I am also pleased to be working with Jonathan Fisher and our first ITV drama with West Road Pictures.”
Launched in February 2019 by MD Jonathan Fisher, West Road recently produced the second series of Blood, starring Adrian Dunbar, and is currently in post-production on Kate O’Riordan’s three-part miniseries Penance for Channel 5.
Fisher added: "I couldn’t be happier to be re-uniting with the brilliantly talented Sophie Petzal on this gripping family drama. Sophie has written a captivating script that I feel sure will have the viewers hooked.”
Aside from Blood, Petzal's other credits have included The Last Kingdom, Riviera and Wolfblood.
