Creative, marketing and advertising firms feature heavily among the London Stock Exchange Group’s sixth annual edition of its ‘1000 Companies to Inspire Britain’ report.

The UK’s financial watchdog has defended its controversial decision not to take action against the Royal Bank of Scotland or its former executives for past mistreatment of small business customers.

Nearly half of all businesses in the creative industries were paid late last year, with an average total owed of £1.1 billion at any one time.

UK challenger bank, Metro Bank, has secured £120m in funding from Banking Competition Remedies, a vehicle set up by the UK government and European Union.
