After an incredibly popular first series, BBC's Killing Eve is returning to UK screens and iPlayer on June 8th.

Killing Eve has become a massive hit with BBC audiences with over 49 million requests for the series on BBC iPlayer so far.

A tweet earlier today confirmed that Killing Eve will return to BBC One beginning on Saturday, June 8 with a primetime slot at 9.15pm.

The acclaimed cat-and-mouse spy thriller is produced by Sid Gentle Films Ltd for BBC America, and when fans caught on to how good it was, many were unhappy that it was available for American BBC Audiences before UK license fee-paying viewers.

The storyline is based on the Codename Villanelle novellas by Luke Jennings and the BBC also acquired the rights to series three in April.

For those who haven't yet seen Killing Eve, you can watch series one on BBC iPlayer - and you even have enough time to binge through it before series two becomes available next Saturday.

Jodie Comer, who was named Best Actress at the British Academy Television Awards, and Sandra Oh, who won Best Actress in a Television Series Drama at the Golden Globes, lead the returning cast for the second series, written by Emerald Fennell.

Fennell will also serve as executive producer, while Damon Thomas is the executive producer and returns as director along with two new female directors, Lisa Bruhlmann and Francesca Gregorini. Elinor Day will serve as series producer.
