Nominet, the UK based domain registry and cyber security specialist, has expanded into the US by opening an office in Washington DC.

The UK internet pioneer, which has offices in London and Oxford, said it hopes to support US organisations wanting deeper visibility and the ability to pinpoint threats through massive data noise, and stop them instantly.

Nominet said its new capabilities are differentiated from competitive offerings that don’t operate at the DNS level, with deep inspection technology uniquely suited to identify and block threats such as targeted malware, ransomware, phishing, Zero Days, APTs, and data exfiltration attempts.

“We feel like a new company despite a 22-year history in infrastructure security, and we’re excited to enter the North American market with a distinctive and proven set of skills and offerings,” said Russell Haworth, CEO of Nominet.

“We’re proud of our expertise and experience in critical infrastructure—in 2017 alone, Nominet analysed over 3TB of data across the UK public sector and blocked 2.5 million malicious requests—and we look forward to working with US organisations to enhance their security strategies and implementations.”
