London talent agency opens Northern office at The Sharp Project
A talent agency founded by former Hollyoaks and Eastenders actor Jamie Lomas has opened a new office at The Sharp Project in Manchester.
JLA Talent Group was set up in London in 2016 by Lomas, along with former Emmerdale actress Simone Clark and Archie Purnell, who had worked in comedy for BBC, Channel 4 and Tiger Aspect.
Head of Talent Purnell said: “JLA Talent Group was formed to find and develop exciting new talent, to build on our existing industry contacts and be that agent that all three of us never found.
“With the expansion and success of the agency we felt it was the right time to relocate our Manchester office to such a creative and digital space. As a team we all fell in love with The Sharp Project on the first visit and are very proud to call it our home.
“Since forming in 2016 we’ve been very fortunate to work with some amazing clients & see them go on to appear on shows across ITV, BBC, Tiger Aspect, Netflix, HBO, AMC, Amazon Prime, Film 4 and Sky.”
JLA Talent Group manages represents a number of actors and actresses and reality stars, including Jacob Roberts (‘Damon Kinsella’ in Hollyoaks), Jamie Dorrington (Emmerdale’s new character ‘Gaz’), Crissy Rock (known for playing 'Janey York’ in Tiger Aspect’s Benidorm) and Kel Allen (played Lulu Lockett in Coronation Street).
Rob Page, Commercial Director of The Sharp Project, added: “Having a dynamic range of support businesses on-site is really important for developing the TV production offering both here at The Sharp Project and our sister site Space Studios.
JLA are a great addition to the tenant community and we’re proud that Archie, Simone and Jamie have chosen The Sharp Project to develop the next stage of their business.”
Lomas played ‘Warren Fox’ on Channel 4’s Hollyoaks. In 2013 he joined the cast of EastEnders to play troubled soul Jake Stone. He appeared in I'm A Celebrity earlier this year and is the former husband of Coronation Street actress Kym Marsh.
