You & Jones bags majority stake in marketing agency OLIVER

Global martech company You & Mr Jones has bought a majority stake in Inside Ideas Group, the business behind in-house agency OLIVER.

Inside Ideas Group was the brainchild of OLIVER’s founder and CEO, Simon Martin and the group’s CDO, Milan Semelak.

The rebrand was applied to Dare, Adjust Your Set, Aylesworth Fleming and OLIVER, who continue to operate indepently, working in-house.

With hubs in London, Bournemouth and Ireland as well as across Europe, Asia, the Americas and Africa, Inside Ideas Group is best known for its OLIVER division. OLIVER has worked with some top clients since it launched back in 2004, including Adidas, BMW and Unilever.

“We’re excited to be joining a group that enables our clients to tap into a broad range of amazing tech-led products and capabilities,” said Simon Martin. As part of the deal, which was supported by London-based investment banking group GP Bullhound, OLIVER clients will now be able to access “a wider spectrum of the most advanced and innovative marketing technology solutions” he added.

You & Mr Jones markets itself as the ‘The world’s first BrandTech group’; helping companies to improve their marketing strategy through technology. Since it launched in 2015 it has closed a number of acquisitions, but this is one of the largest so far.

CEO and former Havas executive David Jones explained that; “When we launched, we set out to disrupt marketing using technology and to create a brand new model for clients.” It now works with properties such as content marketing firm Gravity Road, Mofilm and data provider 55. These expertise will now be available to OLIVER and the Inside Ideas group. "OLIVER deliver brilliant creativity in-house and generating hundreds of millions of dollars in savings for global brands," he concluded.
