Marketing company Joe Public closes due to ‘loss of revenue’

Independently-owned marketing, content and connections company Joe Public has announced it is to close after 10 years in the industry, citing a loss of revenue.

Founder Luke Shires described it as “incredibly sad” for the company to be “in this position”.

The Stage reports that the company, which had clients including West End shows such as Come from Away and Betrayal starring Tom Hiddleston, said it was facing financial problems in the forthcoming year.

Shires said in an email to industry contacts: “It may have already come to your attention that this is an incredibly sad day for Joe Public.

“Due to an unforeseen and sudden loss of revenue for the forthcoming year, the board of directors of Joe Public Limited have very sadly had to pass the resolution for the company to voluntarily wrap up the business.”

He said staff and clients had been informed and added: “A core team will be in the office to keep everything moving on behalf of our shows and our clients for the immediate future.

“But I will always be proud of the achievements of Joe Public over the last 10 years and so unbelievably grateful to everyone that has been a part of the Joe Public family,” he said.

The company lists 22 staff on its website.
