How do you top bagging an Oscar for playing a fabulous, unashamedly gay 70s rock star?

Well, for Rami Malek it could be by landing the role of arch villain in the next James Bond production.

According to entertainment news site Collider, Malek’s agent, WME, is in the final stages of signing him up for the 25th Bond movie.

Previous reports that Malek was in line for the role were scorched when it was suggested that Malek’s filming schedule for the final season of Mr Robot conflicted with shooting for the much delayed Bond production.

However, Collider reported that the actor’s management team had “successfully negotiated his shooting schedule to accommodate both productions.”

Both sides were also apparently waiting to see whether the actor would win the Oscar for his role of Freddie Mercury, according to Collider.

The next Bond film is expected to be the final outing for Daniel Craig as James Bond.

Piccadilly, London-based Eon Productions is the film production unit behind the Bond films, which is shot extensively around the world and at Pinewood Studios in West London.

The most famous stage at the Pinewood lot is the 007 stage named in honour of the long running James Bond franchise.
