Oatly, the independent Swedish company making nutritious and environmentally responsible drinks from oats, has appointed PHD as its media planning and buying agency in EMEA markets, effective immediately.

The appointment will see PHD handle the account in the UK, Germany, Sweden, Denmark, Finland, Norway, Spain and the Netherlands and will also include other European countries as the brand continues to expand.

The eight new markets are in addition to the US, which PHD was appointed to the business in November 2017.

“We are a special brand trying to do things differently, simultaneously as we grow rapidly. This demands a lot from the people working at Oatly but also from our agencies.

"We felt that the team at PHD understood what we want to achieve and they presented a good scalable set-up that will help us to keep on doing great and challenging campaigns across the globe,” says Andreas Granath, Omni Channel Media Manager at Oatly.

Toby Hack, CEO of Global Business said: “We are hugely excited about extending our relationship with such a modern day, challenger brand like Oatly.

"Their emphasis on shaking up a very traditional category, with attention grabbing communications really fits with the PHD planning and innovation led ethos. We can’t wait to do some great work together.”
