ITV and global content platform Shutterstock have announced a three-year extension of their exclusive distribution deal.

The commercial TV network, which houses entertainment events, original dramas, major sports matches, factual series and independent news, is partnered with New York-based Shutterstock for the creative platform to handle a century of archive content.

What's more, Shutterstock will be on-hand to provide production support following the lift of lockdown, through the photographing and distributing of images from shows including I'm a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here, Lorraine, This Morning and Good Morning Britain.

Shutterstock will continue to syndicate publicity images from programmes like Coronation Street, Emmerdale, Victoria and Vera.

Candice Murray, VP of Shutterstock Editorial, said: “ITV is an innovative, forward-thinking leader among the world’s broadcasters. With ITV viewing numbers rising in the current climate, it’s clear that commercial broadcasting is in high demand, and we are honored to be working together to maximize image distribution, bringing iconic television moments to the world.”

Allan Smith, ITV’s Controller of Rights Governance, said: “The breadth of our output as the UK’s largest commercial broadcaster is extensive and we depend on a partner who can not only produce and deliver on our content needs but also provide meticulous and excellent customer service. After 15 years of working with the Shutterstock team and evolving the partnership to meet the needs of the changing media and production landscape, our confidence in Shutterstock’s ability to deliver remains consistent.”
