Customers of Royal Bank of Scotland and NatWest have been unable to access their online banking accounts across the UK.

Bad enough that it’s happened at all, but as many who took to Twitter to vent their frustrations said, the outage comes on Black Friday - one of the busiest days of the year for shopping - and end of month paydays for many.

NatWest customer Michael Dilley, frm Bedford, tweeted: ”Looks like #NatWest online banking is down”, adding a wry sense of humour with “Good job it’s not payday and Black Friday or anything.”
