The Energizer Power Max P18K Pop was announced with much fanfare at the Mobile World Congress this year.

The huge phone, with its 18,000mAh battery, was advertised as the longest-lasting on the market.

But it has now spectacularly failed to meet its ambitious crowdfunding target, securing just over £11,500 of its nearly £1 million goal.

The Pop found favour with just 11 backers, who bought perks including three-packs of the handsets at around £1,200.

Size could have been a problem for the handset. In order to fit in the huge battery, the phone was around three times the depth of an iPhone.

The Pop also boasted a pop-up selfie camera, three rear cameras, and puzzlingly also an FM radio.

The phones were available on Indiegogo for an early-bird price of $549, but it appears that they will now no longer meet their delivery target of October this year.
