Digital ad spend share 'to rise next year'
The share of ad spend accounted for by digital advertising is set to rise this year and next, according to new figures.
The latest survey from GroupM suggests that the UK advertising market will grow overall during 2019 and 2020, by 7.8 per cent and 6.7 per cent respectively.
Following those periods of growth, the market will be worth a total of £24 billion.
Much of that expansion is set to be driven by digital advertising, which GroupM says will record a 19 per cent growth during 2019.
The firm says the advertising sector in the UK has grown by more than 55 per cent between 2013 and 2019.
According to the report, if UK advertising continued that growth trajectory, it would be on course to become the third-largest market in the world within five years.
