Three of this year's top ten highest-earning BBC stars are women, ending the era of all-male top talent.

Last year the 12 highest-paid talent were all men, but this year Claudia Winkleman, Zoe Ball, and Vanessa Feltz have all reportedly broken the top ten.

The BBC is set to publish its annual report this morning, which will detail the salaries paid to the broadcaster's top presenters.

But the Corporation's own media editor, Amol Rajan, reports that the three female stars have ended the all-male list for the first time.

Match Of The Day presenter Gary Lineker is understood to remain the BBC's best-remunerated star.

But some other male presenters, who took pay cuts after the Corporation was criticised for its gender pay gap, are believed to have fallen out of the top ten.

The report is expected to show that the broadcaster's overall gender pay gap has fallen to 6.7 per cent, down from 7.6 per cent last year.

We will publish the full list of the BBC's highest earners, along with further details of the broadcaster's annual report, at 11am.
