Tesco tests loyalty subs model with £7.99 Clubcard Plus
In a first for a UK supermarket, Tesco is launching Clubcard Plus, a new and unique loyalty subscription service.
New and existing Tesco Clubcard customers can subscribe to the new Clubcard Plus for only £7.99 a month to get even more value across Tesco stores, on F&F clothing, Tesco Mobile and Tesco Bank.
The London-listed supermarket brand said Clubcard Plus subscribers can get up to four key benefits each month:
- 10% off two big shops in-store (exclusions and limits apply).
- 10% off selected Tesco brands in-store (F&F, Fred & Flo, Go Cook, Tesco Pet, Carousel, Fox & Ivy) all of the time.
- Double data from Tesco Mobile (conditions apply).
- Tesco Bank credit card with no foreign exchange fees abroad (Over 18’s and UK residents only, subject to status. Other fees may apply).
All of the new Clubcard Plus benefits are easy to access in the Clubcard app, saving customers time and effort as well as money, the retailer said, adding that it is easy to join in just two minutes and consumers can cancel anytime.
The new Clubcard Plus service will launch later this year and is available to use in all UK Tesco stores.

First launched in 1995, Tesco relaunched Clubcard in 2018, making it simpler and easier to use.
The firm introduced contactless cards, improved the Clubcard app and added new reward partners to bring even more value to members.
Tesco also launched Faster Vouchers that allow customers to get their vouchers quickly by downloading them into the Clubcard app – with no waiting for their Clubcard statement to arrive in the post.
As part of its Centenary celebrations, Tesco created Clubcard Prices - whereby Clubcard holders are offered lower prices, which was the first time a UK supermarket had offered savings in this way to its customers.
