Global in-app ad market to reach $220bn

The global market for in-app advertising will reach $220 billion by 2020.

This is according to a new report from KBV Research, which suggests that the market will grow by 18.8 per cent during the period.

North America has so far dominated the market, and will grow at a CAGR of 16.8 per cent over the next year, the research suggests.

But Europe will record stronger performance in the following period, rising at a rate of 17.6 per cent between 2021 and 2025.

Rich media ads and interstitial ads are expected to grow at the fastest rates between 2021 and 2025, while banner ads will see the strongest growth before 2021.

In-app advertising has become a primary weapon in marketers' arsenals, particularly when advertising for other smartphone or online games and applications.
