Instagram appear to be testing new shopping-focused Stories stickers as part of their push further into ecommerce.

Social media consultant Matt Navarra spotted both 'Order' and 'Product' stickers alongside the existing location, mention, and music options.

Instagram has made clear for some time that it believes ecommerce will be a key plank in its future strategy. Earlier this month it launched a new function enabling content creators to tag products shown in their posts and sell them directly to users. The shopping feature is currently only available to selected influencers.

As ad fatigue grows, and as platforms struggle to find any more space in which to offer inventory, shopping is an attractive alternative revenue stream. Instagram is perhaps better placed than most to make a splash in ecommerce, with the visual nature of the app lending itself to the task.

An Instagram spokesperson said the 'Order' sticker is not being officially tested but, as Mashable note, the platform regularly cycle through new potential features, only very few of which even reach a full test stage.
