London martech startup gets Silicon Valley backing

London marketing technology firm Attest has secured a £12 million investment from one of Silicon Valley’s leading venture capital firms.

The backing comes from New Enterprise Associates, a major VC that has seen more than 200 of its portfolio companies go public.

Attest offers research tools for companies exploring products in niche markets.

The company provides frameworks and surveys through which manufacturers and service providers can research new offerings and grow them once they come to market.

Attest was established in 2015, and now employs 50 people in London. Its clients include Deliveroo, Samsung, and Unilever.

According to founder Jeremy King, the firm’s ‘Customer Growth Platform’ provides new methods for Attest’s clients to understand their customers. He said: “I used to work in genetics and behaviour. I have a love for the scientific method and using facts to make every decision.

“I saw this ubiquitous business problem of companies trying to understand at an even faster pace what is changing in their markets, but it is even harder to do it.”

New Enterprise Associates was an early investor in Uber, and has also backed companies including 23andMe, Buzzfeed, Groupon, and Duolingo. It manages assets of over $20 billion.
