Brainlabs makes SEO acquisition

Digital marketing agency Brainlabs, which has offices in London, New York, Austin and Seattle, has acquired SEO agency Distilled.

Daniel Gilbert, Brainlabs CEO, said it is hoping to make a further 10 to 15 acquisitions over the next two to three years. Its intention is to grow an integrated agency offering structured differently to many others.

Following the acquisition, Will Critchlow, former Distilled CEO, will stay on as Brainlabs' SEO partner, heading up the strategy for SEO as a new product line.

Brainlabs was founded in 2012 and now employs around 250. It is currently focused on growing its presence in the USA.

Speaking to The Drum, Gilbert said: “It’s our job now to be able to navigate... walled gardens to operate as effective marketers across them. This completes our offering, to a certain extent, within one specific walled garden.”
