Love Island partners with classic sweets brand
The ITV2 reality show that collects 12 singles together for eight weeks and sees how their relationships blossom launches is working with Swizzels to create special Love Hearts for the launch of series five on June 3rd.
Taking famous quotes and phrases from the show that have now entered the public lexicon - like "crack on" and "pied" - Swizzels has created at least 90,000 bespoke sweets that will be handed out at stations around London, Manchester and Cardiff today, ahead of tonight's launch.
It will be the first time Swizzels has changed the captions on its love hearts for a campaign.
Sarah-Louise Heslop, Swizzels Marketing Manager, said: “Love Island is focused on finding love with someone special, as are our Love Hearts, so it’s the perfect partnership.
"We’ve been making Love Hearts for over 60 years and this is the first time we’ve changed the messaging on our traditional Love Hearts to introduce well-loved phrases from a TV show.”
ITV's Director of Viewer Marketing, Paul Risdale, said: "Partnering with Swizzels and their iconic Love Hearts sweets by adding our own distinctive Love Island phrases was simply too good an opportunity to turn down.
