Global agency Dept announced as partnering with Digital City Festival
International digital agency Dept, which has offices in London and Manchester, has been named as the Digital City Champion for next month's Digital City Festival in Manchester, where it will host a range of entertaining and engaging events.
Dept is partnering with the festival to provide extra engaging experiences for guests coming to Manchester between March 9th and 13th. It is hosting the Digital City Expo afterparty - Cross The Line - at the end of the exhibition's first day on March 11th, and sponsoring a Marketing Session in the Keynote Theatre on the second day, March 12th.
The sponsored session, which closes the final day of the two-day expo, will feature Katy Leeson, MD of Social Chain; and Natasha Kosoglov, Mobile Performance Lead at Google. It will be opened by Dept UK's Creative Director, Jake Welsh, whose talk is titled 'Redefining creativity for the digital consumer'. See the full agenda here.
Dept is exhibiting in the eCommerce Zone at Digital City Expo, which combines leading exhibitors and speakers at one of Manchester's landmark venues. Within the expo venue, too, Dept is sponsoring the central bar, a 360-degree meeting point which will feature a DJ all day on both days. Here, they will also host the official exhibitors' drinks at the end of the expo's first day.
The agency will host the Cross The Line on March 11th at Viadux on Albion Street in Manchester, not far from the Digital City Expo venue. It will be an evening to celebrate the digital scene and unwind after the first day of Digital City Expo, accompanied by food from Red's True BBQ and DJ sets by the Kultura Collective.
More ways in which the Digital City Champions are involved include hosting two Digital City Festival fringe events. The first takes place on March 10th, called 'Architecting the modern digital experience', and will feature Dept, Commercetools, Contentful and some big-name brands discussing the use of 'headless tech'. The second, on March 13th, is the official brand relaunch of Coffee4Craig, the Manchester homelessness charity whose identity has been revamped by Dept. Both will be at Dept’s new open office space that forms their UK HQ in Manchester.
Jake Welsh, UK Creative Director, said: “Digital City Festival provides a platform for Dept to give back to the industry by sharing knowledge in our talks and events, as well as connect skills and resources on a local level. Dept is stepping forward in a big way that showcases our global brand philosophy of encouraging people to enjoy what they do, work hard and celebrate success."
Digital City Festival begins in less than a month in Manchester, bringing together a diverse, global range of attendees from across the digital industries. At its heart is Digital City Expo at Manchester Central, where delegates will gather to learn from the best and collaborate with peers and colleagues. Alongside this, Digital City Festival will also feature a wide range of fringe events, the Digital City Awards, and more opportunities for networking.
