Virgin Atlantic and Virgin Holidays have launched a unique spin on the 12 Days of Christmas for a social campaign created by We Are Social.

The campaign is designed to celebrate the travel platforms' staff, comprising a 12-part video series to be released online. It sees real-life Virgin employees coming together to rework the classic carol and tie in all the things that Virgin can offer travellers at this time of year.

Embedded rich media on Twitter

The videos, which began being released on December 14th, will be seen across the Twitter accounts for both travel brands. The final video, released on Christmas Day, will be full-length and broadcast on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram. On the latter two platforms the video will be supported by a paid media strategy.

Sarah Winter, Social Media Manager at Virgin Atlantic, said: “Our team loves to celebrate the festive season, and this plays a big part in the experience customers receive when travelling with us over the Christmas period. We wanted to find a creative and funny way to bring this to the forefront of our brand and celebrate our wonderful team.”

Rhiain Morgan, We Are Social's Associate Editorial Director, said: “The Virgin Atlantic and Virgin Holidays brands are synonymous with delivering superior quality, adding that touch of glamour and some extra special treats to the experience of those travelling with them.

"Through the series, we wanted to use the spirit of Christmas to better connect the distinctive Virgin brand with its customers and the team which make it all possible. By focusing on the amazing experience the crew delivers all year around and ensuring that we had real members of the team involved in the production, we were able to tell the story in a really fun and authentic way.”
