Thumping victory for Boris Johnson

Boris Johnson has won a huge general election victory, putting him back in power for the next five years with the first task being to 'get Brexit done' within weeks.

The sensational victory that saw swathes of Great Britain turn Conservative blue, proved what many knew - that voters have had enough dithering and now want to move forward and carry out the result of the 2016 referendum and exit the European Union.

Corbyn crushed

The Tory victory was a crushing defeat for the Labour Party and ended Jeremy Corbyn’s dreams of a socialist future.

Many have started blaming the Labour leader for what’s being seen as the worst results for the party since 1935.

The BBC reported that Corbyn, 70, plans to stay on as leader during a "process of reflection" following the huge defeat, but that he will not lead the party at the next election.

Although some results are still coming in, the election is already being hailed as the biggest landslide victory for the Tories since the Thatcher era.
