Robert Webb is the new face of Now TV, leading the streaming company's latest campaign.

The campaign is intended to encourage viewers to switch from Freeview to Now TV, targeting those who have never paid for television before.

Webb stars as a "rubbish" TV in a family home, attacked by a father who's dissatisfied with the traditional TV offerings.

As the father criticises him, Webb responds: "So all this time you've been pretending? That's what all the channel hopping was about?"

The spot was created by Engine, and will be supported by OOH and social activity.

Commenting on the campaign, Engine executive creative officer Paul Jordan said: “We wanted to find a way to show both the love and disappointment that viewers feel for the TV they watch. So personifying the family telly was the perfect answer. And what better scenario than an awkward ‘family meeting’ to deliver the uncomfortable truth?”
