The day came to a musical crescendo with a surprise DJ set from Neneh herself. Guests from the music, food, fashion, art world attended, including Neneh Cherry, Bel Aldridge, Laura Jackson, Cosima, Oklou, Yazmin Lacey and Betty Bachz.
The all-day event was the fourth annual Krug Encounters, following The Clash’s Mick Jones on Krug Island, chef Francis Mallmann at Krug Festival and Jools Holland at the helm of the unforgettable Krug train for Krug Encounters – Tracks on Tracks.
Krug Encounters – Rhythm & Ride provided a stunning setting for a selection of musical performers all chosen by Neneh herself, creating an incredible all-female line-up.
Throughout the day, guests were led through an enchanting forest, with each twist and turn unveiling a brand new sensory experience.
Each piece of the journey was paired with an exquisite food menu, crafted by Chef Daniel Alt – Head Chef at The Barbary in Covent Garden, London and one of Tel Aviv’s leaders in fine dining.
Guided into the experience by Krug Marshals, the first stop on the journey was to the Krug Helter Skelter, where guests were welcomed with a performance from French producer and vocalist Oklou.
Guests ate a selection of light bites from The Barbary including Jaffa-style cauliflower, mung bean rolls and wild za’atar burekas, all paired with Krug Grande Cuvée 167ème Édition.
3-D immersive sound
Travelling further into the forest, guests arrived at an exclusive 3-D immersive sound experience from composer Ozark Henry who performed two compositions, which translated the art of creating Krug Grande Cuvée, through music.
From here, guests arrived at the Krug dodgems, where Yazmin Lacey performed a selection of tracks taken from her EPs Black Moon and When The Sun Dips 90 Degrees.
For lunch, guests enjoyed the bespoke, show-stopping Krubab – Krug and The Barbary’s take on the classic kebab, served with lamb, octopus or courgette and served with Krug Rosé 23 Edition.
The last of the Neneh Cherry-curated line-up saw London singer Cosima deliver a set of new and unreleased tracks, in addition to a stunning cover of Rose Royce’s Wishing On A Star.
Set on the backdrop of a bespoke Krug carousel, this magical moment was accompanied by a menu of pistachio tarts with whipped cream and grilled figs served with thyme and vegan honey, paired with vintage Krug 2004 champagne.
As the day drew to a close, guests arrived at the Krug Encounters – Rhythm & Ride after-party where they were treated to a surprise DJ set from Neneh Cherry.
The sun set over the forest canopy as Kubbeh Kibbeh and halloumi fries were served alongside Krug Grande Cuvée 161ème Édition, poured from show-stopping three-litre Jeroboam bottles.
