UKTV has unveiled a 1940s recruitment-style OOH campaign to celebrate the broadcast of Dad's Army: The Lost Episodes on Gold.

A 'ghost billboard' has been designed to look as if it has re-emerged after years of ill-repair. The creative features the cast of the newly remade Dad's Army along with the strapline: "Together we can complete the story".

Situated in Clerkenwell, East London, the 45ft mural was created by Global Street Art Agency in partnership with Hearts & Science and Talon Outdoor. The artwork was designed by UKTV Creative head of design Peter Allinson.

Gold will broadcast newly created versions of three Dad's Army episodes that were lost by the BBC after their original broadcast in the 1970s. The remakes, produced by Mercury Productions, feature a new cast including Kevin McNally, Mathew Horne, Timothy West, and Kevin Eldon.

The billboard is part of a complete ATL campaign that will also include a Daily Mirror masthead takeover and radio spots on Global stations.

The new episodes will air on Gold from Sunday 25 August.
