Switchboard, a telephone helpline for the LGBTQ+ community, has unveiled a new campaign.

Designed by creative studio Rankin, the Safe Space campaign aims to tackle rising rates of homophobic and transphobic hate crimes.

Switchboard says it will run in areas that have poor representation of LGBTQ+ groups, combined with high rates of hate crimes.

The campaign features bold typography displaying the Switchboard phone number, along with examples of some common questions its operators are asked.

It will run across buses, billboards, and magazines.

Commenting on the campaign, Jordan Rossi, director and producer at Rankin, said: “We want to spread their reach and positive impact across the UK — beyond London and out to the people who may feel isolated, alienated and alone.

“As an agency we’ll always be proud representatives of the LGBTQ+ community and nothing gets our creative juices flowing more than a charitable cause."
