Advertising Association celebrates 'Creativity is GREAT' campaign through film
The Advertising Association (AA), the body that serves as the voice of UK advertising, will celebrate its Cannes campaign with the release of a short film to mark its best moments.
The 'Creativity is GREAT' campaign was launched as a partnership with the British Government, as well as leading British advertising companies. It received significant funding from the Department for International Trade (DIT), matched by leading organisations like Channel 4, Clear Channel, Framestore, M&C Saatchi, and Newsworks.
The AA hosted a special evening reception at Unilever House in Blackfriars on Thursday, where President Keith Weed and director of campaigns and marketing at the DIT, Conrad Bird, celebrated the success of Britain's ad industry at the Cannes Lions awards.
At the reception, the AA showcased the recent Cannes Lions activity, as well as all the other work conducted by the ad industry across the year.
The short film features the highlights of Creativity is GREAT, including 10 networking events and the "rainbow box" installation seen at the Festival of Creativity.
Keith Weed, AA President, said: “The GREAT campaign is widely recognised as one of the best examples of national branding and marketing on the world stage, and our campaign for Cannes Lions underlines the UK Government’s appreciation of the importance of creativity to the country’s economy, culture and reputation.
“Advertising, with its entrepreneurial spirit and creative excellence, can be the perfect partner for Government in its ambitions for the UK’s international trade.”
