Nissan launches its first autonomous driving product with £3m campaign

Nissan Qashqai has announced the launch of ProPILOT, the first iteration of its autonomous driving technology.

The launch will be supported in the UK by a £3 million integrated campaign from TBWA\London and Manning Gottlieb OMD.

A TV commercial will premiere on Friday with spots on Channel 4, ITV, and Sky, preceded by a series of social spots.

The company says its 'Intelligent Mobility' tech enables cars to "park themselves, watch what's around you, and step in to keep you out of trouble."

In the future, it says Intelligent Mobility-equipped vehicles will be able to communicate with each other charge themselves as they travel.

Commenting on the launch, Nissan marketing director Nicolas Verneuil said: “Nissan’s advanced ProPILOT drive assistance technology adds a greater level of confidence, control and enjoyment to the UK’s best-selling crossover. Qashqai is a leader in terms of innovative design and technologies that enhance the ownership experience.

"The new campaign expresses the benefits of this new technology to audiences in a very relevant way and with an engaging accompaniment to their cinematic experience.”
