Facebook hires new head of AR & VR marketing
Facebook has hired a new Head of AR/VR Product Marketing in the form of Brian Irving, who was previously Eventbrite's CMO.
Facebook has recently claimed it is aiming to reach 1 billion virtual reality users, and acquired Oculus VR in 2014 for $2 billion.
Irving will directly report to Rebecca van Dyck, Facebook's AR/VR CMO, and work on promoting a range of new initiatives in the virtual and augmented reality sector, including Horizon, a planned VR world.
He joined Eventbrite in January 2018 as chief brand officer, before becoming CMO in 2019. Before Eventbrite, he's served as Hampton Creek's Chief Marketing & Revenue Officer, global Marketing Director at Airbnb, Senior Director of Marketing at Google, and Director of WW Marketing Communications at Apple.
