London-based digital media agency Substance Global has announced the launch of an Experiential & Events team, which will add a new dimension to the agency’s established publicity, social media, creative and strategic services.

Leading the team is Calvin Ewing (left, main photo, with MD Colin Swift), who brings over a decade of experience working on high profile events for entertainment brands.

Working with clients across film, gaming, television, FMCG and healthcare, the Experiential & Events team will evolve Substance Global’s ability to deliver instinct and insights-led lifecycle marketing campaigns, with the addition of the facilitation and management of experiential activations.

Ewing brings to Substance the ability to strategise, plan and execute experiential activations and real-world live event management - including projections, stunts and unique builds of scale and size.

Andy Freedman, Substance Global CEO, said: “We are thrilled to be launching this new division with Calvin.

“Working together on numerous past projects, we’ve seen first hand his expertise and passion in bringing some remarkable events to fruition.

“We’re excited to see him develop these offerings for our clients and partners in-house at Substance.”

Commenting on his new role Ewing said: "I'm really excited to join the Substance Global team.

“I’ve long been an admirer of their work, and the chance to add my experiential expertise to their existing offering is something I believe will bring a fresh, integrated approach within the experiential space.

“With the combination of specialist digital marketing and real world activations, our clients will be getting the best of both worlds."

Ewing has worked with and executed notable events for Twentieth Century Fox, Walt Disney Studios, Universal Pictures, NFL, Turner Broadcasting, The Pokémon Company, Viacom and The Crown Estate.

Substance Global is a creative marketing agency with offices based in London, Los Angeles and Buenos Aires.

Clients serviced include The Walt Disney Company, Paramount Pictures, Universal Pictures, Sony Pictures, AMGEN, Microsoft Xbox, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, AMC & CBS and Entertainment One.
