Start Design win BLOC Hotels account

BLOC Hotels have appointed Start Design Consultancy to its brand development account.

Start Design will work with the short-stay hotel company to build a new brand ahead of its nationwide expansion.

BLOC is preparing for the launch of a new, 23-storey tower in Birmingham, and already operates a hotel in Gatwick.

Rob Morgan, founder and CEO of BLOC, said: “We’ve spent years travelling and staying at short-stay hotels around the world, and found many, quite frankly, well below expectations, at any price.

“We’re working to improve the model for guests, cities and communities. The market is long overdue a refresh and with it the experience. For us, design has always been a lens through which to address that.

"The bed and quality of sleep are obviously of central importance. But, as we see it, there’s so much more to a ‘great short stay’. The old bed and kettle model doesn’t work for today’s travelers.
