Specsavers has continued its push at its in-house agency with the appointment of a new head of creative operations.

Julia Arenson will enter the newly-created role and will be responsible for transformation across the agency, which handles all of the creative for the glasses retailer.

Specsavers was one of the first major companies of its kind to launch an in-house creative function. It has reportedly doubled in size over the last four years.

Arenson joins from VCCP Blue, where she worked as head of creative production. Prior to that she was at Leo Burnett.

Commenting on the appointment, Specsavers creative director Graham Daldry said: "Julia is an important addition to our team and has a proven track record of leading teams to produce fantastic creative work.

"Having someone of such high calibre and experience in the agency will allow us to make many of the changes we’ve planned to drive efficiencies and step change the end to end creative process. It promises to be a very exciting future."
