23 Capital appoints new Global CMO
Darrell McLennan Fordyce has been appointed Global Chief Marketing Officer of 23 Capital, the London-based capital and solutions provider focused exclusively on the sports, music and entertainment sectors.
McLennan Fordyce has more than 20 years of experience across the sports and media landscape and is joining the team’s London office with a remit to build the 23 Capital brand across Europe, North America and beyond.
He will work closely with the company’s origination and strategy teams to define 23 as one of the world’s leading cross-border lenders to the sector.
Since its inception in 2014, the company has deployed and advised on over $3bn of transactions and last month opened a new office in Barcelona.
He previously worked closely with Pembroke VCT and their portfolio of businesses, including Boat International Media and Heist Studios, and has also held senior roles across the industry, including Head of Sports an Games Marketing at Orange and Senior Director, Marketing and Communications, at the NBA.
He worked on the agency side with WPP and Ivory Worldwide. McLennan Fordyce also advised on bids to host the Ryder Cup, Volvo Ocean Race and America’s Cup.
