Dentsu's global media agency Vizeum has announced its new CEO.

Mike McCoy will return to the Dentsu Aegis Network, having begun his career at the then Aegis Media in 2000.

He spent 12 years at DAN, beginning as a buyer in the TV department and eventually rising to the position of managing partner at Vizeum UK. He then worked for two years in the agency's LA office.

Latterly McCoy has worked as managing director at Amplifi, and as executive director at content agency The Story Lab.

He will report directly to DAN UK and Ireland's executive director of media and performance, Matthew Platts.

Commenting on the appointment, Platts said: “Mike has demonstrated an innate understanding of how to help clients identify the different ways media can be used to help them grow as a business. He combines sharp, strategic thinking with an in-depth knowledge of how content can be used to help reach modern audiences in a meaningful way. This makes him a great fit to lead the next stage of Vizeum’s continued evolution as a modern media agency.”

McCoy added: “It’s very exciting to return to Vizeum, which played such a pivotal role in my formative years within the industry. The rate of change that the media industry is experiencing presents plenty of challenges but also a lot of opportunities.

"I’m looking forward to working with some of the best strategists and planners in the industry to help them harness these opportunities.”
