Porta Comms' CFO steps down as merger progresses

London-listed PR, marketing and advertising agency Porta Communications has announced that Rhydian Bankes is stepping down from the Board and as Chief Financial Officer of the group with immediate effect.

The company, which is in the process of a merger with rival PR and media group, SEC, and will remain with the company until 1 November 2019.

He will continue to assist with the completion of the merger with SEC, which is expected to become effective on 3 September 2019, and the orderly transfer of his responsibilities.

"On behalf of the Board, I would like to take this opportunity to thank Rhydian for his many significant contributions to the Group since joining in January 2016”, said John Foley, Porta’s Chairman. 

“He has been a valued member of the team and leaves us in a strong position as we embark on this next chapter in our story as SEC Newgate S.p.A. We wish him every success in the future."

A further announcement will be made in due course regarding the role of Group Chief Financial Officer.
