Media Chain, the social-first publishing arm of Social Chain, has announced the appointment of Jon Edwards as Head of Sales.

Edwards previously held the role of Brand Partnerships Account Director at LadBible group, and was also formerly at the Trinity Mirror.

At Media Chain, he will be based in London, and will hold responsibility of all Media Chain brand partnership sales across the UK.

He will initially focus on growing the social media publishing business and will work to deliver highly engaging and effective campaigns.

Previously Jon has held positions at LadBible group, Hearst and Trinity Mirror, and has worked with the likes of PepsiCo, Amazon, Sony Columbia, Ladbrokes Coral & Warner Brothers.

He is well versed in the commercial world of social media, and was part of the original commercial set up at UNILAD, helping to grow the company through successful social and digital brand partnerships.

As part of the acquisition by LADbible Group at the end of 2018, Jon joined the new wider commercial team, servicing the Independent Agency. Jon aided in growing this side of the business over 200%.

On joining Media Chain, Jon said: “I’m very honoured to be joining Media Chain and to work on developing their commercial offering across their vast and progressive portfolio of brands.

“To have the opportunity to work on fantastic brands like SPORF, Student Problems and GameByte among many others, alongside some of the best entrepreneurial thought leaders in the social space at a time of ambitious growth, excites me.

“I look forward to seeing what the future of Media Chain holds.”

Christian Grobel, MD at Media Chain, said: “We are delighted to welcome Jon on board at an exciting time in the life of Media Chain.

“We look forward to him bringing his commercial and brand partnership expertise to the company and its leading social media brands, contributing to the great momentum of the Social Chain Group as a whole.”
