Ad veteran Guy Phillipson appointed Jicwebs chairman

JICWEBS, the cross-industry committee which define standards and best practice for digital advertising, today announced that industry veteran Guy Phillipson will become its new Chairman.

Guy replaces Richard Foan who established JICWEBS with four stakeholder trade bodies (ISBA, the IPA, the IAB and the AOP) and signaled his intention to leave last year.

Guy Phillipson is a highly respected leader and innovator in the sector. During his tenure as CEO of the IAB UK from 2005 to 2017 digital advertising surpassed 50% of total UK media spend.

As a previous JICWEBS Board member, Phillipson was instrumental in setting the committee’s focus on brand safety, ad verification and anti-fraud programmes. The former head of advertising at Vodafone went on to chair the digital media agency iCrossing after the IAB, so has a wealth of buy- and sell-side experience.

This follows the announcement in November last year that JICWEBS had hired its first CEO, appointing Jules Kendrick into the role.
