Head of Paid Social

Passion Digital are looking for an energetic, experienced and ambitious Head of Paid Social to lead our growing Social Media department.  The successful candidate will have the opportunity to shape not only the direction of the department, but of the agency more broadly as the Head of Social role also sits on the agency’s senior leadership team.

The role would suit someone with a strong performance marketing background, perhaps a frustrated Social Account Director or an ambitious Biddable/Performance marketeer.  Someone who is passionate about social media and performance marketing but also by the prospect of bringing their vision to life!

You will be responsible for a team of 3 experienced Social Account Managers who will lead the day to day client comms, optimisation and planning.  Your day to day will consist of a mix between handling team resources and workload, to delivering bold, innovative social strategies.  You’ll additionally take responsibility for the Social team’s pipeline and financials, whilst participating heavily in the new business process, creating winning proposals and presenting directly to prospective clients.

You’ll be a passionate digital marketer with a keen desire to work with like-minded people to help solve challenges. You’ll be a strategic thinker, with a deep understanding of social media, and how it fits within the larger marketing mix.

Key responsibilities

  • Managing team growth, nurturing employee progression, holding regular 1-2-1s and reviews to help employees develop their skills and flourish
  • Operating team financials, forecasting and planning growth for the department
  • Pilot Social strategy for our clients, working with all Passion teams to deliver integrated campaigns that deliver fantastic results
  • Working across a wide range of industries from eCommerce, Travel, Food & Beverage, Real Estate and many more
  • Liaising with clients, being the point of authority on accounts from a strategic point of view
  • You will be deeply involved in new business, devising plans and strategies to solve business problems for potential new clients
  • Presenting and winning pitches
  • Managing and implementing new trends, tools and best practises into our processes


  • 5+ years in a digital role with a focus on Social Media
  • Knowledge of operating within an Agency workplace
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities
  • Expertise across Social Media Channels such as Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Pinterest and Twitter
  • Strong understanding of Paid Media within Social and its role within a wider digital marketing mix
  • Knowledge of Attribution and how Social works and is measured within the paid media mix
  • Experience managing paid media campaigns with knowledge of planning, optimising, targets and reporting
  • Proven experience in managing direct reports
  • Energetic and knowledgeable presentation skills


9am – 5.30pm Monday to Thursday +/- 1 hour

4pm Friday Finish
