Hyperoptic bolsters leadership team with two senior hires

UK broadband disrupter Hyperoptic has appointed two new members to its executive team as it embarks on its ambitious growth plan.  

Peter White has been appointed as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and Naleena Gururani has been recruited into the role of Chief People Officer (CPO).  

Both report into Dana Tobak, Hyperoptic’s Co-founder & CEO.

Hyperoptic said its accelerated growth plan will see it invest in its infrastructure to pass two million homes with its full fibre network by 2021 and five million homes by 2024.

Workforce to increase

Its 1,000+ workforce will increase during this growth period to enable the company to successfully scale its operations in a bid to become the UK’s leading full fibre network provider. 

White joins Hyperoptic from Workshare, a leading SaaS provider where he was also CFO. Previously he also held CFO positions at Lumata, a business to business mobile marketing technology services group, as well as at České Radiokomunikace a.s., a provider of broadcasting, tower infrastructure and telecommunications services in the Czech Republic. 

Earlier in his career he was Corporate Finance Director at mobile network operator, 3, having joined when it was a start-up, he helped grow it to revenues of over £1.5bn with four million customers. 

Gururani joins Hyperoptic from telecoms provider, Lebara where she worked for ten years in a range of senior HR roles, most recently as Global HR Director. 

Hyper people: Gururani becomes chief people person

Prior to that she was Head of International Recruitment at Infosys, a global leader in digital services and consulting.  

She also advises innovation-led start-ups in building people strategies around change management and growth.  

At Hyperoptic, she will lead a 30+ HR team across Hyperoptic’s UK and Belgrade offices. She will be taking a strategic lead in developing and implementing transformational programmes to build a strong culture, centred around a people-focused operating model and positive employee experience. 

Drive for better broadband

“UK consumers are receiving some of the worst broadband connections in the world, this has led to an unprecedented demand for our gigabit full fibre connections”, said Dana Tobak, CEO, Hyperoptic.
