Carwow names first Head of Media Partnerships

London-based online car buying platform, carwow, said it has hired Charlotte Tice to become its first Head of Media Partnerships. 

Tice is a seasoned digital marketing and media professional, having previously been Head of Marketing & Client Service at Hearst Live, where she was part of the team that saw revenues double in 2018. 

Prior to joining Hearst Live, Tice spent ten years at Mindshare UK, where she was Head of Digital & Publishing. 

In that role, she was the driving force behind the company’s creation of the combined digital display & publishing media investment team. 

Tice will be joining carwow to consolidate and expand the company’s relationships with media agencies and to position the fast-growth tech business as a leading producer of automotive content across all platforms.  

2.1m YouTube subscribers

Carwow has more than 2.1m YouTube subscribers, with a dedicated fanbase following the reviews and features of the company’s resident car expert and editorial director, Mat Watson.

Online media content is central to carwow’s mission to empower customers and bring greater transparency to the car buying industry, the firm said. 

The business is looking to work with a range of media agencies to expand its reach and to educate customers about the choice, affordability and ease of buying cars online.

The hire of one of the leading figures in media reflects carwow’s ambition and fast-growth trajectory - having created a company that has increased revenues by 147 per cent over the last three years to more than £15m and sold more than 150,000 cars online. 

Last year, carwow was recognised by the Sunday Times as one of the fastest 20 growing tech companies in the UK and the company is expanding its presence in Europe, particularly in Germany and Spain.

Growth ambitions
